"My Connections to Play"

When I was growing up I was allowed to play like it was really my job. My mother loved to play with my and do diffrent things. I remember her taking my sister and I to the playground and playing with us, not just sitting on the sideline watching us play. Whatever we were intrested in she always made sure we had things to explore and use to expand on our ideas. These days I feel like there is sure a huge push to get children to "learn", and because of this there is less time being dedicated to children's play. I feel that people need to be educated on the important role play has in child development. Another thing I feel is diffrent from play when I was younger is the use of technology. Yes I had a gamen system when I was younger but I was not allowed to veg out in front of the tv all day. I use play outside in the winter time just as much as I did in the summer. Play is the reason why I work in the education field today; I use to send almost all of my free time playing school, house or with my barbie's. I think it I was not allowed to play and explore I would not have the passion for teaching that I have now.

Relationship Reflection post #1

Relationships are very important to, in my circle of friends I am the one who brings everyone together. I love to see people happy and I love to be the person to do that. Relationships offer support during good gems and bad this is why I feel it's important to maintain them.
I have had the same two best friends for 18 years and I could not imagine my life without these girls. No matter what they are always her for me, they get me, they understand who I am as a person and accept me for who I am.
The one thing I have learned in maintaining is a healthy relationship is one in which each party gets what they need out if it. You have to learn what works for one relationship might not work for another person.
Characteristics that make some relationships partnerships is; trust, compassion, and communication.
I think my experiences with relationships and partnerships help me to be an effective early childhood educator because the characteristics      I see in my personal relationships also apply to my profession. When working with people in general communication and trust are always important.
